Victoriano (Tano) Darias Program Director – Master in Music Business and Master in Intellectual Property Law (Universidad Internacional de La Rioja – UNIR)
Professor – Berklee College of Music Victoriano Darias is a music industry veteran from Spain who has worked for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers (GESAC). While until recently he was still consulting and providing legal advice to a variety of clients, including songwriters and artists, trade associations, and content producers, he has developed in the past seven years a career in academia. He currently holds the position of Director of two master’s programs (Music Business and Intellectual Property Law) at Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), where he also teaches courses on Copyright Law and Economics of the Music Industry. He is also a professor at Berklee College of Music (Valencia campus) where he teaches a variety of courses on the music industry, its legal aspects, and music and the media.

Victoriano Darias holds a Ph.D. from Universidad de La Laguna (Spain), two Master’s degrees in Music Business (M.A.) from New York University, and in European Union Law (LLM) from the College of Europe (Belgium). He has published two books in Spanish, one on the legal aspects of music in the internet, and a second one on music and the media, and has authored academic articles and music industry reports, the most recent of which about the economic impact of music in Spain.
